Form With Sugar

Sugar Bar and Grill opens! We are delighted to announce completion of this exciting bar and grill in the heart of Newquay at number 25 Bank St. Working closely with owners Brad Miller and Kirsty Wood we have created a space that combines the rich surfaces of the original Edwardian building with fresh, contemporary design themes. Drawing strongly upon our experiences in modern architecture, and Brad and Kirsty's love of Barcelona cafe culture, the space makes use of the high ceilings and a fully glazed facade to blur the boundary between the street and interior. With bespoke oak timber work throughout, and original artworks by London artist and Royal College of Art graduate Matthew Andrews, the Sugar Bar sets a precedent for quality design in Newquay.

Seven large, minimal canvasses were comissioned for the Sandsifter Bar and Restaurant at Godrevy near St.Ives. Layers of acrylic colour were built up over a dark background to create richness and depth. The colours were keyed in with those of the interior scheme, and simple geometric references reflect those found in the interior architecture - a Form speciality!

...this dressed flint cladding we spotted on the exterior of a Norfolk church. It has durability, inherent beauty, natural patina and is an excellent use of local materials. Don't ask for it on your project though...
