The Bird
The Bird is a fresh, vibrant space, located in The Escape Hotel,
Newquay, specializing in authentic Thai food. We balanced a minimal
interior with crisp greens, whites and oak timber, to create the
perfect environment for Noam from Koh Lanta to serve up his classic
dishes. We are particularly proud of our specially designed tables;
3.1 meters in length, incorporating bench style seating yet with no
cross bracing or diagonal supports. The result is easy to manufacture
and maintain, and provides calm, horizontal simplicity througout the
space.
The Fistral Chef
This is the archetypal "greasy spoon" reborn in contemporary style.
Funky colours and decor combined with innovative design features
provide a suitable eating experience for surfers and informal diners.
Bespoke elements such as the surfboard uplighter and "pop art" style
product displays give the space its unique charisma. Our client tells
us that this is classic example of good design leading to increased
profitability.
Cullens
More than just a restaurant, Cullens is a local phenomenon. The first
of its kind, it provides central Newquay with a much-needed brasserie
style dining experience offering high quality cuisine to a discerning
crowd. We took the bold step of using walnut panelling throughout and
a rich palette of colours which are accented in the large-scale
specially commissioned fine art canvasses. Booking early is recommended!
The Sandsifter
Situated in the stunning coastline at Godrevy Towans near St. Ives,
the Sandsifter is a story of renewal and transformation. Dormant and
non-operational for the past twelve years we applied a full design,
build and renovation scheme to this much talked-about building. The
interior design layout broke down the conventional floorplan to
provide a variety of customer environments ranging from snug booths
to bar and restaurant seating. The unique angled bar, with its
amazing stone top and distinctive timber cladding provides a
sculptural focal point for the space.
The Sugar Bar and Bistro
The face of Newquay is changing, and this centrally located bar is
already seen as a beacon for others to follow. Strongly influenced by
our experiences in modern architecture, it blends minimalist design
with beautiful surfaces, and the exposed brickwork is more than a nod
to the building's Edwardian heritage. Our client asked for a slice of
London style which is underpinned by Jasper Morrison seating and
tables, extraordinary original art work by London artist Matthew
Andrews, as well as our usual bespoke furniture pieces.
